Luna marks first anniversary of work to improve support for children & young people bereaved by parental suicide
Luna is a year old today and we're celebrating the progress in our mission to improve support for suicide-bereaved children
Simon Millington from Broadstairs in Kent is one of the founder members of the Luna Lived Experience Network. He’s a football coach educator and coach developer for The FA and is passionate about utilising sport as a vehicle for social change.
When Stacey Turner first heard about Luna's mission to improve support for children bereaved by parental suicide, she thought, 'At last!' She tells us why she's joined Team Luna.
At Luna we do our absolute best to make sure we find the right words to talk about suicide bereavement, while also being aware that there will never be one single phrase that is right for everyone.
The Kent and Medway Mental Health and Wellbeing Community Fund supported by Kent County Council, Medway Council and NHS Kent and Medway has funded Luna to deliver a series of three-hour online training sessions in February and March.
We’ll be running more Luna Lived Experience Network information sessions for those who lost parent to suicide as a child or young person in the future but we wanted to address one of the big questions that came up in the run up to last month’s online gathering.
